After years and years of false starts it looks like we might actually get a sequel to the original 80’s Ghostbusters.
Jason Reitman, son of Ivan who directed the first two has said to be working on a Summer 2020 release.
Reitman said “I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a 6-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans. This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.” Which distances itself from the all-girl reboot a few years ago.
Time will tell if this does end up happening but it does seem more likely than it has before.
