In news that surprises no-one Guardians of the Galaxy 2 broke the half billion dollar mark in box office takings on its 17th day of release. The film looks on course to become the 5th best Marvel film at least by the time its run has finished and could become the 5th Marvel film to break the coveted $1,000,000,000 figure.
This figure has added to Marvels already excellent box office with the combined total breaking through the $11 billion dollar mark after its opening weekend.
With Spiderman: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok both due out before the years end we can safely say now that the $12 billion will be breached soon enough.
